Cany - Our Lady of Apparitions in NY with Caridad Sola

Step into the captivating world of Caridad Sola, a Cuban-American visual-performance artist and architect, whose creative endeavors are driven by a singular purpose – to craft indelible moments that linger in the mind and soul. With an unwavering devotion to the grand, the dramatic, and the theatrical, Sola's work is an immersive journey into the realms of powerful rituals and thought-provoking metaphors.

At the heart of her artistic exploration is the mesmerizing performance titled "Our Lady of Apparitions." This immersive experience delves into the concept of embracing the unbelievable through anomalous, quasi-perceptual encounters with apparitions. Sola embarks on a remarkable endeavor as she brings to life her own interpretation of three Catholic saints she was named after La Virgin de la Caridad, La Virgin de la Mercedes, and Santa Barbara.

From October 6th to 12th, as the sun begins its descent, Sola's performance will unfold along the expanse of 14th Street. The artist's presence will grace the Western point of the street, gradually traversing its length to culminate at the Eastern point. With each passing day, spectators will witness a manifestation of spiritual and artistic fusion, as Sola channels the essence of these revered saints, inviting onlookers to contemplate the extraordinary within the ordinary.

In a world where the boundary between reality and illusion is blurred, Caridad Sola's "Our Lady of Apparitions" is a testament to the transformative power of art. As the sun sets and the street becomes a stage for ethereal encounters, Sola beckons us to question our perceptions, challenge our beliefs, and embrace the enchantment of the unknown.
